New club committee: At our recent AGM, a new club committee was elected for the year. The committee is charged with deciding club policy, prioritising new projects and administering finances. While it may not be the most glamorous job its a vital component to the effective running of the club. Typically, the committee meets once a month. I hope to bring news of the committees activities throughout the year.
Those elected were:Chairperson: John Keane, Vice-chair: Brendan Cuddihy; Treasurer: Larry Howard; Secretary: Daniel OConnor; Child Protection Officer: Freda OKelly; Ladies football liaison: Jemma Mahon; County board reps: Gerry Walsh & Fergus OBrien; PRO: TBC; Other Committee Members: Tony Duddy, Ciaran Goff, Peter Keane, Kevin Healy, Conor Monaghan, Gary Lehane and Ciaran Ryan.
Mother and daughter camogie coaches: It was strictly girls only down at the Shoreline for Nollaig na mBan (6 Jan) last week. All the camogie coaches and their daughters played each other to prepare for the upcoming season. By all accounts, family familiarity was discounted and all went at it full pelt! While no boys were allowed, they did let Ciaran Goff and Jim Darcy act as refs!
Weekly lotto: Had you entered last weeks lotto draw and picked 10, 14, 18 & 21 youd now be 12,000 richer as these were the winning numbers. A few people came close matching three.
