Our adult ladies camogie team welcomed Naomh Eanna of Glengormley, Antrim to Greystones for their first match of 2017. The long trip down ensured the visitors got off to a slow start allowing the Eire Óg ladies an early head start. An entertaining fast paced game saw the team in white with a marginal lead at half time.
The second half started well for the clocha liatha ladies but the North Belfast ladies had not travelled all the way to Wicklow to admire the scenery in the Garden county. The true grit we associate with teams from the northern province came to the fore in the second half and the sustained first half effort and the early stage of the season saw the Eire Óg ladies tire slightly as the game drew on, a great match finishing up 1.1 v 1.3. Well done ladies and thank you to The Naomh Eanna for taking the trip down and a return visit is on the cards in the not to distant future.
