Glory for adult ladies footballers

Our adult ladies footballers are the Wicklow Junior A football champions! They took the title and will play in the intermediate grade next season thanks to a deserved victory over Arklow/Gers Ballymoney in Avondale last Saturday.

In a strong team performance, they resisted a late Arklow comeback to come out on top on a score line of 3-12:3-08.

Special mention must go to player of the match Laurie Cunningham who scored 2-09 of the team's total. You can watch a post-match interview with Laurie below and see some photos from the match here.

The team now moves on to compete in the Leinster Junior Football championship. They travel to face the Offaly champions on 19 October.

Local schools in GAA action

We always enjoy seeing our local schools participate in Gaelic Games.

In recent days, St Brigid's 3rd-6th class girls played a camogie blitz in Bray while Greystones Community College U16 ladies footballers played Goatstown Educate Together at Pairc Mhic Suain De Barra.

As well as the great work done by teachers in the schools, our club's Games Promotion Officers (GPOs) also do a great job promoting Gaelic Games on our local primary and secondary schools

Scór na nÓg (under 17) County Final

Scór na nÓg (under 17) County Final is nearly here! The venue is Temple Carrig Secondary School, Greystones, this Friday, 18 October.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with the competitors taking to the main stage at 7:00 p.m.

Over ten clubs from all around Wicklow are sending dancers, singers, musicians, novelty acts, and quiz teams to represent their club.

And Éire Óg has a fantastic rince foirne team, a set dancing group, a solo singer, a traditional Irish music group and a table quiz team

The teachers, mentors, and our participants have worked really hard between their normal football, hurling, and camogie schedules to prepare for the night, and we hope all our members will come and support them!

Admission (cash only) is €5 and accompanied children are free.

Weekly fundraising lotto rises at €10,300

Our weekly jackpot stands at a nice €10,300. Buy a ticket, match all four numbers and the cash is yours! Just like some of our previous lotto winners.

Last week’s winning numbers were 2, 6, 10, and 26. The weekly cash prize winners were Linda McCann and Cian Hynes.
