Adult ladies footballers through to championship semi-final

What a performance by our adult ladies intermediate football team last weekend.

They travelled to Dunlavin to face the home side St Nicholas' in the quarter-final of the championship. Undeterred by facing their opponents on their home patch, they produced their gutsiest performance of the year to come away with a three-point victory, 3-07:3-10.

They now march on to the semi-final next Sunday, the 21st, in Ashford at 11:15 am, where they will face An Tochar.

Dermot Earley Youth Leadership Initiative

The club is running the Dermot Earley Youth Leadership Initiative (DEYLI) for 2025/2026 starting on 28 September.

DEYLI has seen over 1,000 young GAA members (aged 15-18) complete the year-long programme, gaining from the University of Galway a FETAC level 6 third-level qualification in Youth Leadership and Community Action for their efforts.

This unique programme evokes and honours the values Dermot Earley epitomised and is designed to foster them in a new generation of young Irish leaders. The programme comprises of three modules, two of which are facilitated, and one is undertaken by the young people independently.

U16 Camogie team are Division A Shield champions

Huge congratulations to our fantastic U16 camogie girls on a momentous win in a blustery Ballinakill on Wednesday night. Our girls battled hard and demonstrated great resilience, particularly in the second half, to come away with a 9-point victory.

This group of girls have trained hard all season and for many of this group, winning back-to-back A shields is an amazing achievement!

Our club is so proud of you!

A big thank you also to the coaches who have worked so hard all year and the parents who have supported and shouted on the girls all season.

Dads and Lads on tour!

Well done to our intrepid Dads and Lads footballers who showed that it's not just a young man's game by travelling to Bray to play their counterparts last night.

It was clearly a competitive encounter with no quarter given, as apparently one of our players had to receive stitches afterwards!

Anyway, both teams participated in a group photo afterwards, regardless!

Big thanks to Bray Emmets for hosting and to Dominic Reilly for putting our lads through their paces.

Junior hurlers bow at semi-final stage

Hard luck to our Junior (second adult) hurling team who were defeated by a strong Kiltegan team in the Junior A semi-final last weekend. Despite the defeat, it was a poisitive year for the group, progressing to the last four.

Congrats to Dexter, Tom, Cillian and Donnacha who represented the Wicklow U14 hurlers against Dublin at DCU at the end of August.Good stuff lads!
