Adult men’s footballers start with: It was a good start to the season for our adult men’s intermediate footballers yesterday in their first Division 1A. In atrocious conditions, they dug out a 1-08:0-07 win against Kilcoole. They travel to Kiltegan next weekend. Remember the club’s website has a fixtures and results page which is updated regularly https://eireoggreystones.com/fixtures-results/

Scór na nÓg is an under 17 Competition: Can you sing, dance, act or even answer a few questions? If so, now’s your chance. For the first time, we are planning to enter the GAA’s culture-based competition-Scór.

There are eight events/disciplines in Scór that cover all aspects of Irish culture:

  • Rince Fóirne (Céilí Dancing)
  • Amhránaíocht Aonair (Solo Singing)
  • Ceol Uirlise (Instrumental Music)
  • Aithriseoirecht/Scealaíocht (Recitation/Storytelling)
  • Bailéad Ghrúpa (Ballad Group)
  • Nuachleas (Novelty Act)
  • Rince Seit (Set Dancing)
  • Tráth na gCeisteanna (Question Time)

We will hold a selection evening at the clubhouse on Wednesday 2nd of March between 6:30-8:30 p.m for anyone interested. The county final will be held on Friday 11th of March. It is a huge opportunity to represent your club. If are interested, contact the club’s Irish culture and language officer, Seosamh Ó Dálaigh on 087-768-7241 or email seos.daly@gmail.com

Where are they now: It’s back to Australia for our latest in the series where we check in with Pearse Kelly. When it comes to mentors, Pearse picks out John Wynne as “probably involved in every team I played in from 2005 all the way up to 2017. He was a great motivator and man manager always had time for everyone on and off the pitch.” Read Pearse’s story https://eireoggreystones.com/player-profiles/
