Adult hurlers are 100%: “Team of the week” would have to go to our senior hurling team. They defeated Avondale on Saturday in their final league game. The victory meant that they went their league campaign without defeat winning every match. They now play Glenealy next Sunday in the league final.

Our junior team (below) were narrowly defeated by Avondale 2:15-2:10 in the delayed 2020 Junior Championship final. Great effort all the same.

Weekly lotto: Please don’t forget to support our weekly lotto. It’s our main source of fundraising and enables us to keep our membership fees down. The winning numbers in last week’s draw were 2, 8, 17 & 29. Nobody managed to match all four numbers so the next jackpot is for €2,700. The weekly cash prize winners were James Woods and Tanya O’Higgins. Get your €2 tickets HERE.

Adult camogie and ladies footballers team get first wins: It was also a good week for our adult ladies section. Both the camogie and ladies teams picked up their first victories of the season against Knockananna and Arklow respectively. Both these redoubtable teams have never let their heads drop when results haven’t quite gone their way, and they richly deserve their victories.

Showcase your team: Are you involved with an adult or juvenile team? Would you like to feature the team on our website, social media or newsletter? If so, just email me.

Yours in sport,
