Patsy Vickers RIP

Patsy Vickers RIP

It’s with great sadness that we have learned of the death of our club President, Patsy Vickers.

Patsy’s association with the club stretches back to 1977 when he took over the management of a juvenile team.

In the intervening 45 years, Patsy gave unbroken service to the club assuming a wide range of roles in coaching, and administration including the role of club President.

He was an ever-present at club matches and for many years and he was the main reason our club grounds always looked so well-kept.

Among the many accolades he received was the Wicklow GAA Lifetime Achievement award in 2017 (below). In time, we will provide you with a fuller account of his immeasurable contribution to the club.

See arrangements for his funeral. We are hoping for a really big turnout from club members. https://rip.ie/…/patsy-patrick-vickers…/494455

As a mark of respect, the club’s pitches will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, the 2nd and 3rd of May with no matches and training on either day.
